Georgia's Stone Mountain

People want to make monuments to remember from generation to generation what makes up their history.

These are heros of the Confederacy: Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

Who are your heroes? Who they are says a lot about you and your values.

We all have people we look up to and emulate. This can be very good as long as we have a worthy role model. We are all let down by our heroes at one time or another and that is to be expected, given human nature. There is only one hero who will never disappoint you. The more you learn about him, the more you realize how "together" he was in every way. He was always in control, he did not have petty motivations, he showed consistent compassion and he is worthy of molding your life to conform to his model.

He was never bested in public debate over the important issues he confronted. He was attractive as a techer and leader and developed a large following. He spent a great deal of time alone with God in private, even though he had a busy schedule. He developed those around him to become great leaders. He put it all on the line for a good cause. And, most of all, he won big. He could not be defeated, no matter how great the odds against him. Posted by Picasa
